|Mowgli is the main character in The Jungle Book stories (1893-1894) by Rudyard Kipling. (Yes, the books were there first.) His adventures start off after he's being left behind in the jungle of Central India. Mowgli is found by a flock of wolves, led by the charismatic Akela and Raksha. When the Shere Khan tiger claims the baby, the wolves refuse and decide to raise Mowgli themselves. While growing up Mowgli becomes friends with the black panther Bagheera and a bear named Balou, who teach him the laws of the jungle. As a teenager Mowgli returns to the human world, but he'll always stay in touch with the jungle and his wolf brothers. Once a wild child, always a wild child.|
